In a significant step towards sustainable waste management, State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt. has implemented a comprehensive waste segregation system across all classes. Each classroom is now equipped with two distinct dustbins: a blue bin designated for dry waste and a green bin for wet waste. This initiative aligns with the broader goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission which emphasizes the importance of segregating waste at the source to promote recycling and reduce landfill usage.

Students have been educated on the critical aspects of waste segregation. They understand that the blue bins are intended for recyclable dry waste, such as paper, cardboard, and plastics, while the green bins are for biodegradable wet waste, including food scraps and garden trimmings. This color-coded system simplifies the segregation process, making it more intuitive and effective.

By adopting this practice, the school aims to instill responsible waste disposal habits in our students, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment. The active participation of the students in this initiative reflects the commitment to environmental stewardship and sets a positive example for the community.

The President of Group of State Public Schools, Dr Narotam Singh, the Vice President , Dr Gagandeep Kaur and Principal Mrs Savina Bahl were glad to witness such a Grand drive for nature and congratulated all for this grand initiative.
