Jammu(Arjun Verma), 15 Jun 24:The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu recently uncovered a significant land scam involving over 225 kanals of land. This scam was orchestrated by a nexus involving the land mafia and officials from the Custodian, Revenue, and Police departments. The ACB has filed five FIRs against those involved, including government officials, and conducted raids at the premises of 16 individuals, including Tehsildars, Naib-Tehsildars, Patwaris, property dealers, and their associates. The investigation revealed that some of the land originally allotted to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir refugees in 1955-56 was illegally taken over. This operation underscores efforts to tackle corruption and protect public land in the region.
