Peel police lay impaired driving charges after three-vehicle crash in Brampton

Peel police have laid impaired driving charges following a three-vehicle overnight collision in Brampton that sent four to hospital.

Police said they were called to the area of Steeles Avenue West and McLaughlin Avenue in Brampton at 1:07 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, following a report of a three-vehicle crash.

Peel Const. Sarah Patten said three men and one woman were transported to hospital following the collision. Three of the four individuals are in their 20s while one is in their mid-30s.

he arrest follows the launch of Peel police's holiday RIDE program. At a news conference late last month, Peel police deputy chief Marc Andrews said officers had issued 52 charges against drivers since Nov. 12.

There has been 34 fatalities related to impaired driving in Peel since 2018, Andrews said.
