CABINET MINISTER BALKAR SINGH KICK-STARTS WORK OF DR BR AMBEDKAR CHOWK TO MC LIMIT ROAD AND COOL ROAD WORTH RS 14 CRORES

Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh on Saturday Kick-started the works of constructing road from Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk to MC Limit point (Near TV tower) and cool road worth Rs 14 crores. 

Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, Lok Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Rinku along with MLA Shital Angural also accompanied the Cabinet Minister. 

The stretch from Dr BR Ambedkar Chowk to MC Limit point (near TV tower) having length of 5.5 km will be constructed at a cost of Rs 10.50 crore. The cool road (around Length of 1.5 km) will be built worth Rs 3.5 crore. Both roads were excavated for installation of pipes as part of the surface water project and commuters were harried a lot. 

While inaugurating the works, the Minister Balkar Singh said that the state government was committed towards the all-round development of the Jalandhar city. He said that the state government had specially emphasized the improvement of the road network of the urban areas and ensuring beautification of the city.  He also asked the MC officials to keep vigil on the construction work to ensure quality material was being used. 
MPs Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal and Sushil Kumar Rinku said that state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had fulfilled majority of its promises to ensure comprehensive growth of the state and prosperity of its people. They said that every effort was being made to usher in an era of unprecedented growth and development in every nook and corner of the state.
Chairperson Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, District Planning Board head Amritpal Singh, MC Commissioner Rishipal Singh and others were also present.
