Govt failed to maintain law & order : Angad Dutta

Punjab Youth Congress, Angad Dutta, Expresses Concern Over Recent Robbery Incident at Jalandhar

*Jalandhar, *: Secretary of Punjab Youth Congress, Angad Dutta, has expressed deep concern over the recent robbery incident that occurred with the priest of Geeta Mandir in Jalandhar. The incident involved the theft of two gold rings and a substantial amount of 20 thousand rupees in cash from a priest. The incident has raised serious questions about the security of the public in the state, prompting Mr. Dutta to demand immediate action from the ruling government.

In light of this incident, Mr. Dutta has criticized the ruling government (AAP) for their failure to maintain law and order in the state. He stated that the crime rate has significantly increased under their administration, raising serious questions about the government's ability to ensure the safety of its citizens.

"Bhagwant Maan and his government have utterly failed in maintaining law and order in Punjab," said Mr. Dutta. "The Chief Minister's negligent approach towards the security of the common people is deeply concerning. Instead of taking appropriate measures about public security, he keeps thousands of policemen on his duty to wander around in vain."

Mr. Dutta further said that Bhagwant Maan is doing nothing substantial for law enforcement, except burdening the police with increased responsibilities. He highlighted the severe lack of police force and essential facilities in police stations across the state, leading to delayed responses and inadequate security measures.

"In this particular case, it took the police an hour to arrive at the scene, which is unacceptable," Mr. Dutta stated. "The shortage of police personnel, patrol vehicles, and other essential resources has significantly hindered their ability to respond promptly to incidents, making the public vulnerable to criminal activities."

Taking a dig at the Chief Minister, Mr. Dutta reminded the public of the promises made by Bhagwant Maan before the elections regarding law enforcement and police recruitment. "Bhagwant Maan claimed to understand the needs of the police and vowed to prioritize public safety, but his actions tell a different story. Not a single police recruitment has been initiated under his leadership," Mr. Dutta pointed out.

The Punjab Youth Congress stands with the people of Punjab in demanding a safer and more secure environment for all citizens. Mr. Dutta and the Youth Congress will continue to advocate for robust law enforcement and hold the government accountable for its responsibilities toward public safety.
