A teacher at a school in Ilford has been shortlisted for a nationwide teaching award during a year where teachers have been pushed to the limit.
Amara Copsey, who teaches at the Caterham High School in Ilford, Greater London, was shortlisted for the Best New Teacher award at the Tes School Awards earlier this month.
The awards are open to everyone working in education across the country, and a panel of judges will decide the winners next month.
Elsewhere, the West Leigh Junior School in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, has been shortlisted for the Best Use Of Technology award.
