Jalandhar by-election due to BJP’s policy of engineering defections: Rana KP
 
JALANDHAR, July 3: (Vikrant Madaan) ; Chairman Punjab Congress Campaign Committee Rana KP Singh today addressed the election meeting of bye Election at Jalandhar West at Bhago Camp and appeal the voter for Congress Candidate Smt Surinder Kaur, he oblamed the Bharatiya Janata Party for forcing an unnecessary by-election on the state as it had engineered the defection of the Jalandhar West MLA Sheetal Angural from the Aam Aadmi Party and made him resign. 
He pointed out, the state had to bear expenses of crores of rupees because of this by-election, which could have been avoided.Rana, also a former Speaker of the Punjab Legislative assembly was here in connection with the campaigning of the party. He said Angural's defection was not an isolated case, but a part of the national policy of the BJP to engineer defections from other parties as it has been doing all over the country. He said, like people of Punjab taught the BJP a lesson in the parliamentary elections by defeating all its candidates, similar fate was awaiting the party in Jalandhar West also. 
                      He observed that the BJP will not even manage to get the same number of votes it got in the parliamentary elections from the Jalandhar West assembly segment. The Congress Campaign Committee Chairman said, people were looking forward to the Congress to get out of the day-to-day problems. He said, the AAP government had belied the expectations of people as it had failed on all its promises.  Rana expressed confidence that the Congress will win this seat by a handsome margin as people of Punjab had realized that there was no other party than the Congress to lead and govern the state. They are actually missing the Congress government and looking forward to it coming back, he claimed.

  Area Councillor Advocate Bachan Lal organised  this election meeting which was attended by Pargat Singh MLA, Sukwinder Singh Daini, Rajinder Beri president DCC, Balraj Thakur ex President District Congress Jalandhar etc
