Welcome to "Trekking journey of manimahesh: A Himalayan Adventure." In this blog, we embark on a journey through the breathtaking landscapes and captivating culture of Himachal, one of the world's premier trekking destinations. Nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, it offers trekkers an unparalleled experience of natural beauty, cultural richness, and spiritual awakening. Join me as we explore the diverse trails, meet the warm-hearted locals, and discover the magic of Kailash mountains.
So, our journey begins from Udhampur district in Jammu, where four friends set out on a trip from Udhampur to Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh touches the border of Jammu and Kashmir."The view here is quite worth seeing. I'm talking about the journey of Mani Mahesh. The next day, just before starting the journey, the weather changed."Upon arriving here, the weather changed drastically, and amidst the heat, there was a sense of cold. The transition from sunshine to clouds, then from clouds to rain, and from rain to snowfall started to seem imminent. It feels as if we're being welcomed. We departed for Barmani Mata Mandir, which is located in the Barmour tehsil.
From Bharmour, there is a climb of about 2-3 kilometers from Barmour where we received the blessings of the goddess bharmani mata, and then returned to Barmour. Now we had to go to Hadsar from Barmour. The four of us decided to take a local bus to reach Hadsar. We reached Hadsar from Barmour, which is approximately 13 kilometers away. We caught the bus and reached Hadsar.
As soon as we arrived in Hadsar, some locals informed us that before starting the journey to Mani Mahesh, we should go to Kugti Valley. There, we should seek the blessings of the local deity, the Kalangi Minister(Keylang Wazir), who is revered there. Because Kugti Valley was very beautiful and we had seen some pictures of it on Google, we were eager to go there. We couldn't stop ourselves from going there. We then took a local bus from Hadsar towards Kugti Valley. Upon reaching Kugti Valley, the weather there was lovely and the scenery was breathtaking. The people there were very hospitable and spoke in a very pleasant manner.
"We met with the local people after receiving blessings of Local deity , who informed us that the mountain ahead, known as Kailash Mountain, is where we'll have to complete the parikrama of mountain . We devised a plan to approach the Kailash Mountain from the backside to witness the scenery and then reach the front side to complete the task. It took us three days to trek through the dangerous and expedited track . The scenery was not just normal; it was quite thrilling and adventurous, leaving everyone mesmerized."
"It was the third day, and as we continued on our way, the weather worsened, forcing us to take shelter under a rock. We had to huddle under the rock as it started raining heavily. The next morning, we set out again and eventually reached near Kailash Mountain.
We ascended 18,500 feet above sea level, and then descended where we saw Gauri Kund and Shiv Kund. We traveled from morning till evening until we finally reached Shiv Kund. We had to stay there overnight because we had to perform Darshan of Mani, meaning witnessing the spectacle of Mani, which is a phenomenon where you see a bright Mani above the head at night, visible from anywhere.
It is believed that no climber has ever reached the summit , because external researchers/Foreigners and trackers have yet to figure out why climbing there hasn't been successful. Whenever they went, sometimes during the day, sometimes during the night, the trackers would lose their direction, and there is a spot where they could not proceed further. This is a one-time event where some foreigners crossed that line, but as soon as they did, they descended, and their eyes were saddened, leading to several attempts by trackers, but they always ended up descending. It is said that neither helicopters nor trackers have been able to reach this point, and it remains an unsolved mystery, a pure point that no tracker has been able to trace so far.
And then the next morning around 3-4 am, we saw that spectacle in Mani, and with the first rays of the sun, that Mani also gleamed, which was located in a small corner of the plateau.
And then we left from there to go back down where we had to end the journey and stay at the hotel to prepare for our return home the next morning. And we finally reached the end of the journey. Those days, those beautiful memories are still etched in our eyes as if even today, when we lift the veil of those memories, we can see everything as it was. It was more than just a trek; it was a spiritual journey that we will never forget. We hope to come back next year and behold the beauty of these valleys again and try to delve even deeper into the spiritual journey.
Let's embark on this Himalayan adventure together.
